SUMMARY:Spring Break Manners & Tea Camp
DESCRIPTION:Ages: 4 and older (must be potty trained) \nIt is no secret interaction with peers is a key component to a well-rounded education and upbringing. This small camp environment allows children to enjoy the merits of a comfortable and safe setting for social interaction\, hosted by caring staff. Manners Camp is an on-going skill building program\, encouraging positive behaviors\, responsibility and good old-fashioned fun. Lessons in etiquette and social graces along with arts\, crafts and creative play for every age is a staple to each day. \nSee below for details about our Counselor in Training (CIT) Program for children 11 years and older. \nLUNCHYou may send your child with a packed lunch. We also offer catered lunch by Northside Social. Orders are taken upon arrival and options include: chicken strips\, hamburger or cheeseburger\, cheese or pepperoni pizza\, peanut butter and jelly on croissant or house salad. All entrees come with chips and fresh fruit. \nEXTENDED CAREEarly bird drop-off (8-9am) and Late Owl pick-up (3-5pm) are included in Extended Care. This is a flat rate\, which is not pro-rated for singular attendance to morning or afternoon care. Late pick-ups may be charged Extended Care fee. Any pick-ups after 5pm will be charged a late fee. \nSCHEDULE8-9am: Early Bird drop off9-3pm: CAMP9-10am: Morning exercises (treasure hunts\, dancing\, & more!)10-11:15am: Table manners and tea time11:15-12:00pm: Clean up and play time12-1pm: Semi-fancy lunch followed by big screen movie time to rest1-2pm: Outdoor games (weather permitting)2-2:45pm: Arts & crafts2:45-3pm: Clean up and prepare for parent pick up3-5pm: Late Owl pick up \nREFUNDS/CANCELLATIONSCamp reservations are non-refundable. It is our pleasure to transfer your registration with at least one week notice to any available date through the remainder of the year. \nCOUNSELOR IN TRAINING PROGRAM (CIT) \nThis program is a wonderful addition to our Manners and Tea Camp and geared specifically for older campers who feel they have grown out of the normal camp but still enjoy the tearoom (11 years and older). \nCITs take a more active leadership role in learning effective ways to interact with younger children\, help with set up\, cleanup and transitioning between crafts and activities. They have a behind the scenes view of camp and become part a valued part of our TEAm. CITs receive advanced training in the art of etiquette and social graces while also enjoying a spot of tea and all the other fun aspects of camp. \nStaff will work with CITs to develop a more advanced approach to the skills we teach and model as well as review their progress and performance. \nPlease register your child for camp as you would normally but in the notes section mention you are registering as a CIT. We offer no more than two CIT position per camp.

We want to help you bring out the best in your child. \nReserve a seat for this extra special tea party + etiquette training. This impromptu class is an opportunity to reset and refresh your maturing child’s presence at the dining table and in social settings. We will strengthen communication skills through conversation and consider first impressions as we navigating a proper tea service. \nWe are passionate about teaching practical manners in the most engaging and impressionable way. Good manners\, after all\, are a ticket to elevated experiences and good times in life. The way one behaves is a gift to oneself and to others. The lessons can be catered to those attending\, but will also include: \n– introductions\n– carrying on conversation\n– reading social queues\n– table settings\n– serving ourselves and others\n– using utensils properly\n– anticipating and reacting kindly \nConfidence is gained\, one tea party at a time.
